INDUSTRIAL TRAINING CENTER - DIVYANG REHABILITATION CENTER

Smt. Binduben Karsandas Vekaria Industrial Training Center & Divyang Rehabilitation Center
The Industrial Training Center started in year 2004 is approved by the Commissioner of Employment and Training Government of Gujarat.
We run two courses,
1. Computer Operator,
2. Cutting & Tailoring, exclusively for the disabled children. Children who have passed standard 10th / 8th are eligible to get admission in these courses respectively. the duration of the course is one year. The main aim of these courses is to improve employability or self employment prospect of the disabled. The ITC has a capacity to train 24 students in a year.
Divyang Rehabilitation Center has been started to provide on the job training and employment to the trained and skilled disabled persons. At present we have a tailoring unit. Persons, who pass out from the ITC- cutting and tailoring for the children have an opportunity to get employed in this unit. The unit stitches dresses for the children of our schools. It also gets orders for stitching dresses from other schools, industrial units and private individuals too.
Braille Press
Braille-users can read computer screens thanks to refreshable Braille displays. They can write Braille with a slate and stylus or type it on a Braille writer.
A computerized Braille press creates study material, books, newsletters, annual report, quarterly magazine, Braille Ballet Paper and Braille Voter Slip & other useful educational material needed by the visually impaired.
This is of tremendous help to the visually impaired for getting access to useful information. Braille Text books are supplied free of cost to students and various affiliated institutions every year by Organization.

So far we have successfully trained 11 persons with disability during the year.
Divyang Rehabilitation Center:
The Viklang Rehabilitation Centre has been started to provide on the job training and employment to the trained and skilled divyang persons. At present we have a tailoring unit. Persons, who pass out from the cutting and tailoring. The children have an opportunity to get employment in this unit. The unit stitches dresses for the children of our schools. It also gets orders for stitching dresses from other schools, industrial units and private individuals too. At present 04 divyang persons are working in this unit.
Audio Recording Unit
This unit fulfills the reading needs of all visually impaired students from primary school to the college level by providing audio CDs of study material on various subjects.
The center produces audio CDs of hundreds of books covering a variety of topics ranging from school text books to literature, fiction, poetry and short stories.
Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing Unit
We have started to Making Hygienic Sanitary Napkins with the aim to provide employment to woman. Our Organization provides quality based services to beneficiaries of this project.
We supply Sanitary Napkins to all the Primary Health Center & Cluster Health Center of the Kachchh District under the various project of Health & Education Department.
Hostel for Divyang adult
This Hostel is providing free lodging & boarding facilities to those disabled who are studying in Industrial Training Center or college and working in Divyang Rehabilitation center or elsewhere. It has accommodation capacity of 48 persons.
